That photo says it all. My sassy little baby made this face while trying to stand up and look around while holding my chair. Welcome to Day Two of the packers. Things are going smoothly, well not so smooth for me. As you can see in the photo below, I don't look very happy. I'm not. This was the day that I started feeling more sick. As I would come to find out tomorrow, I have Strep. NO fun.Tuesday, November 30, 2010
Mom, Where did the toys go?

Day one of the packing
Our friend Kevin Witte-hunt stayed with us a few days after he lost all his furniture and his family had already headed to Oklahoma. Josephine really enjoyed all the attention she was getting, especially the flying game. Kevin is a big fan of the toss in the air, and Josephine loved EVERY minute of it. My favorite part of this photo is, as his wife Melissa pointed out, that it looks like Jo is praying every time she is tossed in the air.
At first, Josephine was not sure what to make of the movers. What is that loud noise you are making (the tape)? Where are you taking my toys? What are these new brown mountains that are containing me into this room (the boxes)? That is how I think her mind was going. The packers themselves were very nice. They would always show up, it seems, right after Jo went to bed. So each day they just were really quiet until she woke up. Here is Kevin and Kevin just relaxing while Jo practices her standing.Saturday, November 27, 2010
Iliana's First Birthday Party
For those of you who did not know this, I had found some distant cousins in Warwick, RI before we moved there. John's Great-Grandfather and Mine were brothers who immigrated here from Greece in 1912 to Fall River Massachusetts. That was the short version of the story. :)
So the last weekend we were in Rhode Island we were able to go to his daughter's first birthday. Josephine got to see her cousins one last time. She just looked so cute for her first real birthday party! She had a great time and enjoyed hanging out with Iliana's yiya.Friday, November 26, 2010
Black Friday
First off. No, we did not get up at the butt crack of dawn to go shopping and get the good deals. We did, however, go after Josephine's first nap to Old Navy and The NEX. She made a bigger killing at ON, whereas I got my nice jacket for the winter time at the NEX. Overall a very productive day. I just love the outfit she was wearing and just how damn cute she is in it.

Josephine's First Thanksgiving
We got to spend the day, well the dinner, with The Raunigs this year. It was such a wonderful time and all the food was fantastic. Even Jenna had her own version the Tofurky, as her sister calls the abomination.

Reflux Appt
So as it appeared, we thought Josephine was ready to get off her Reflux Medicine. So we scheduled the appt and went. As soon as the corpsmen tried to lay her down to do her height she started screaming. The whole appointment was her really upset and crying. I love though how Dr. Mcdonald likes to say in situations like this "My little friend seems sad". This picture says it all on the drive home. Sorry Jo. The Dr did say she could be ready and we should go ahead and stop giving her the meds.
Needless to say, she did not sleep that night very well or the next night. So we put her back on the reflux meds and she is now a happy baby once more. We will try again at her 1 year appt I'm sure.

Another sad goodbye
So we had to say another sad goodbye this week. The Witte-Hunts have left Rhode Island! (Well Kevin is still here until graduation, but Melissa and the kids have said goodbye) This was a really rough goodbye. I'm getting teary eyed all over again while writing this. On a happier note. Kaiden will forever be Josephine's first boyfriend. He was the first boy to kiss her, try to hold her hand, pull her pants off when she was still a newborn and share toys with her. Wonder what they will think of all this years down the line when we all live in the same port again?

Staci came to visit
Like in one of my previous posts, I love how you always seem to be reconnected with past friends thanks to the military. Staci use to be one of Kevin's roomates back when he lived in San Diego on his first tour. Several years later, here we are all in Newport at the same time. She has married a Marine Dino and are now expecting their first child, a boy, here in Feb. As you can see Josephine loves her Staci.
The one thing that does suck about always moving, is you finally make a pretty good friend and now we have to move from each other. Then again, this is the Navy and we will all be in the same location again soon I'm sure of it! *This is for you Katie! We are following you shortly! Three weeks and we are there!
Xmas Dress Preview
It's that time of year. The time when every commercial on tv has a xmas jingle, or the jewelry stores have invested all their money into christmas commercials that will run from now until Valentines Day! "He went to Jared" commercial with the kids are just plain hysterical. Most kids don't care what their dad got their mom.... Well enough on that ranting!

Winter Hat Time
Yes yes what you are seeing is correct. Josephine has a winter hat and glove set that is a puppy dog! The funny story behind this hat is we actually bought this for her, before she was even born! Thank goodness our daughter has a small enough head that she is able to use them a whole year later since we got them too big for when she was born! As you can see though, she kept giggling at her hands cause they had the gloves on them! I think she is going to enjoy winter wear!

VOTE!!!
Of course all the volunteers that were working were so smitten by Josephine, and she must have had her flirty face going on cause the men working couldn't get enough of her! After checking in, the older woman at the table (she reminded me of my grandmother) was super sweet to hold Josephine while I casted my vote. Josephine did amazing. She just sat there and watched me and didn't cry or squirm. Not sure if I should be proud that she didn't mind the stranger, but at that moment I was.
I enjoyed expressing my freedom as an American and in the end Josephine got the sticker that made her happy!
Chet in Newport
Since becoming a Navy Wife, I have discovered something. Friends that you make in other cities, always seem to cross your path again. Well this week it happened again. A good friend of ours from Monterey has come and made Newport his home now. Chet is back! It really does seem like yesterday that I would watch his dog and Chauncy and Bailey would just play and play.
Well this week we met up for lunch and Chet got to meet Josephine for the first time. She really took to Mr Chet! Can't wait for our next meet up after he gets back from Dahlgren and we can get Timmy in town too....
